You will get one RR credit for A-B-C if they're booked on one PNR. You get two rr credits if you book A-B and B-C on two different PNRs.

And, FWIW, it's simple to check bags if you're flying A-B and B-C on two different PNRs--though an agent here and there have given me a hard time in the past. The process is simple, they create a standby leg on your B-C leg tag the bag through, then delete the standby leg. It's time consuming, but they'll do it.
