I would ask that they revise the amounts chrges in light of the current exchange rate. They have probably based any US charges on a 50c exchange rate instead of the current rate which is just a tad under 60c (59.8 at 9am today).</font>
It would have been the rate in effect early last week. (I'm presuming that the booking is fairly new). The BSR in CRS's changes once per week - if the OP tried to book the exact same routing later next week, there would be a different amount of taxes - may be up, may be down but as the little Aussie battler keeps rising, more than likely down. Would be handy to know where the routing is going - 4 of the top 8 most heavily ticket taxed countries in the world are Oz, UK, USA and Germany, and all are "favourites" on round world routings. It also depends on the carrier/s being used - some still have their insurance surcharge fees, others have fuel levies.
While we can't do much about overseas taxes, it's time some screws were placed on the regulatory bodies here - $105.72 in taxes/levies on a Y SYD-MEL is getting a bit beyond a joke.

Cheers.
