I'm not sure if there are previous threads on this...to be honest, there could be 20 and it still wouldn't be enough. I'm a Marriott loyalist. I spend, on average, of 140 nights a year with them. I am a die hard NON-smoker and the last few stays I have been thoroughly disappointed with my room. Since Marriott has made every room non-smoking, I keep getting the misfortune of being assigned to a previous smoking room that's now designated non-smoking. I don't know what Marriott thinks are appropriate methods to remove the smoke aroma...but it's not working.

What's most frustrating is that the last 2 instances I have arrived at the hotel after 10 pm and when I call to the front desk to be moved, I've been informed they are sold out and I'm stuck.

I know this really isn't the fault of the the hotel staff...but Marriott has to come up with a better way to convert the former smoking rooms to non-smoking. I don't care if they have to tear out the carpet and the furniture and start all over with each of those rooms...but if I continue to get stuck in these pseudo non-smokers, I'm going to change to a hotel chain that has smoking rooms just so I know I'm going to get a real non-smoker. I guess I'll have to start calling a day or two before I arrive and tell them that I want to be sure I'm getting an ORIGINAL non-smoking room.
