I might have countered (to the agent and the masses), "We're flying in F to Japan. Since you don't know your geography, Japan is an international destination. The sign for the line says 'International First,' which means anyone flying in international F can use it, regardless of status. Where would you like us to line up and take our $45k? You can process our refund or endorse our tickets to NH, JL, or SQ, where we don't have to deal with poor service or bad attitudes."
