Longhaul 2 Adults, 1 child, 1 infant: 4 Y or 3 J?

Once again, we are looking at our annual UK (BNE-LHR-BNE) travel arrangements. Since the last one, 2 events have occurred - our baby turned 2 (and so needs a seat), and he now has a baby brother .

I reckon 3 J seats, with baby (15 months) in bassinet, will be better than 4 Y. I have secured 2 U seats, and intend to buy a discount Y seat and updgrade if additional seats are released. The risk here is that my Y seat may remain exactly that - Y !!

Mrs willyroo is indifferent to 3J or 4Y, but tells me that susbtantial fiery brimstoney events will occur if I have to spend her holiday money on a J/D seat due to not being able to upgrade a Y seat !

What do you Platinums think is the risk of not being able to upgrade a Y seat in December/January?

Any advice would be much appreciated!
