Was hoping that I could tap into the collective wisdom of this board to come up with some suggestions for Xmas/New Years.

My partner and I have gone to Puerto Vallarta for the past 5 years for the following reasons:

1. Pretty much guaranteed good weather at that time of the year.
2. It's a 5 hour flight from YYZ, which is the longest flight we are able to take due to my partners back problems.
3. We can do nothing all day or find activities all day.
4. We can do nothing at night, or find lots of interesting restaurants/bars/clubs to go to.
5. Welcoming atmosphere - GLBT friendly.
6. Relatively cheap, though this isn't a huge consideration.
7. We aren't beach people, so the lack of a great beach isn't an issue for us.

Through no one's fault, we didn't have a great time there last year, and so now we are considering other places to go.

Basically, we're looking for somewhere that comes close to as many of the above reasons as possible. Any ideas?
