If I had the money to pay for F I would not be on US to begin with. I would be paying the higher fares on AA or Delta or NW. US is the consistent cheapest for where I go and is a full service airline.
I cannot wait for people to complain because it is better than the cheesecake and then it goes away. I hope you all switch to another airline just because of the pie...
I guess you have never flown with me or individuals like me. As the founder of my firm, it is my money. I would question my employees taking your attitude that since it is not really their money that they don't care about the quality of services being provided to them
When flying non-stop transcon or to Europe or Asia, I have paid A or Z fares regularly. Also at the last minute frequently F is nearly the same price as Y, so I've done that too (in some cases actually cheaper).
I do not wish to play the gate dance routine, so there are those of us where PHL is just very convenient (altho wish fares similar at ABE) and don't want a connection that are dumb enough to pay US to sit up front F. Yes anyone else would provide a better product, but since my first flight in 1970 on Allegeheny, my loyality has remained with US, and I keep hoping for a return to a passable product. I'll be the first to admit, I am ready to take the bus to EWR and change to CO, since every time it seems they have a better product.
That is why I resent the degrading of the product. It's not the pie (probably better than the cheesecake). It is what it represents, along with the plastic cups, the Chinese restaurant napkins, and the picnicware on those few flights that food is served. If I want to fly Ryanair or easyjet, I pay accordingly and expect the spiel. US fares are not low cost.
