No way will they comp you status if you have never even had status before. I was a former Gold Elite with about six RT's bought in advance and they could care less about my business.

The planes are full, almost every seat - and the profits are up.

However, there is a credit card that is being offered that will give you Silver status. I do not know if it is a one year deal, or permanent - but you might want to search and check that out.

One question about the consulting gig - is it common for management consultants to be fresh out of college? And what advice will you impart?

I ask only because I had about 15 years in the biz before I broke loose as a consultant. I could not imagine being new to the business world and tasked with advising others on how to save money, time and save a project.
