UA to Oz... why cheaper with 1 NZ leg (but not 2)?
I've noticed this quite often-
When I am looking for flights LAX-MEL or LAX-SYD, it seems to always be cheaper to fly NZ on the outbound OR inbound, but not both.
Flying NZ metal on both legs is about $300 more.
Flying UA metal on both legs is about $300 more.
Having one or the other (and doesn't matter which way) is always cheaper? What's the reason for this strange occurrance?
