You need to give more info such as what airlines do you have miles in, for which airline do you need the miles and whats the timing for your trip?

Transferring from one airline to another is usually not desirable because of the loss of miles in getting laundered through a third party such as Hilton Honors.

Look at what points you already have in hotel programs, Amex rewards, DC, etc. that can be transferred. You could join a dining program (Idine) for your airline program, and eat out a lot. Or, sign up for a miles earning credit card.
