If your discount Y ticket SIN-LHR return cost you $1,500, and your J seat costs $6,000, the upgrade for both legs would be 2 x 40,000 = 80,000 points.
The value of those 80,000 points is around $4,500, or around 5.6 cents each. Upgrading international flights is probably the best way you can use your points.
