No, I am not an HH cardholder of any type, and I have never had an HH AmEx. (I used to have an HH Visa, but after not ever using it since getting the sign-up bonus, Citibank cancelled it automatically when I applied for an AA card at some point. )

So I presume it was a real "soft landing", but I just don't know how they decided to give one to me when they don't give one to most other people who "at casual glance" seem to have similar numbers. For all I know it could be very complicated, like maybe they factored in that I tend to repeat the same few hotels year to year (even if only once or a few times a year each!), so maybe they think I'm simply traveling less? (No, I have the same 100ish personally-paid 1-night stays a year, all in the same area. It's just that I've shifted to non-HH hotels where the prices are comparatively way better nowadays, even though the price differences were relatively small a few years ago.)
