So it sounds like the upgrade to the Executive Suite would be with near certainty, while there still seems to be a chance at the Presidential Suite if available assuming I book the Executive Suite.... tough decision.
I also emailed the property, and expressly asked the policy regarding upgrades when the Executive Suite is the room booked. This is the reply:
"Dear nzchick,
Regarding the upgrades ,As per the ambassador status, its an upgrade to next available room. But regarding the club executive room and presidential Suite since we have in very limited number its very difficult to guarantee it. Its all depends upon on the availability and the situation upon check in.
Anything else please don't hesitate to contact me
Regards"
So this would definitely suggest that they
can upgrade from Executive Suite to the Presidential Suite if available. I guess the biggest problem would be the check-in agent saying that it was booked or unavailable for some reason in order to avoid giving the upgrade...
I am now thinking I will change my booking to a Club Executive Suite and see what happens (sounds like they are nice anyway, as per jswong's comment).
I am about to sign Mr nzchick up for Ambassador, so we will have another BOGO to use later this year anyway.
OT, but what are people's opinions re the best IC's in the US? From a search of this forum & another travel site I haven't seen too many positive comments so I may avoid them when we are over there for a month in Aug/Sept (final itinerary yet to finalised, but will include San Francisco, New York City & probably some of the southern states). Any hints/tips apppreciated.
