I am in Calgary, and looking at flying to Bombai, India. I'm used to flying inside North America, and book all online... I've never booked international flights before, and it seems there are more airlines open for me to book with that are within the star alliance.

However, there is a couple routes I could go. I could go over the atlantic, or over the pacific. both is about the same time.

on www.aircanada.ca is wants me to flying Calgary-Toronto-Zurick-Mumbai. However on Luft. website it says Calgary-Frankfurt-Mumbai.

I would prefer to fly Calgary-London(AC) - London to BOM ( BMI) Keeping within star alliance so I can earn status. However the AC.Com website does not have this option, or the Luft option.

I could go yyc-sin-bom as well.

As anyone flown this route? Or what route would you take and how would you book it? (www.ac.com, www.flybmi.com,etc,etc)
