Just to share a little experience with those of you that try not to hold JB accountable for things. I had an entire travel toiletry bag stolen out of my suitcase when flying with Jetblue. Checked my bag at the counter, picked it up at the other end with baggage claim. Yes, I know the TSA checks the bags, and JB baggage handlers deal with it as well. That's not for me to try to figure out, the bag is in JB possession and that's all that matters.
I did not realize the bag was missing from my suitcase until the next day when I was unpacking (didn't get home until 3AM) Called the airport baggage claim and they tried to blow me off. Finally got the number of the central baggage office in SLC and had to file a claim. In the end they did reimbursement for all the items taken within the toiletry bag and I was satisfied. I would suggest the OP contact that office and at least get a claim in there.
For everyone to defend JB, and not at least hold them accountable is really just wrong. Regardless of who "took" the items from the bag, when you check your luggage at a specific airline, it is now their responsibility. And trust me, I happen to like JB however as in every walk of life there deceitful people but how the corporations that employ them handle the situation speaks volumes. I will continue to fly JB when it meets my travel needs.
