It only take a few days to transfer PC points to BA miles - I moved about 100k last year to top an award using 241, and they were moved within the week.

If you go for direct miles rather than points, I think it means you can't qualify for PC plat based on points as you don't have any ! With all the PC bonus, I've already qualified for Plat this year based on a realitive few stays / nights.
