Well BA's pax profile does allow preferences to be held but as I have posted before, it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I suffer from claustrophobia so an aisle seat for me is of great importance. This preference is noted in my profile (I regularly check it to make sure it still is) but when I go to OLCI I reckon 70% of the time I have been pre-allocated a window - on some occasions even a bl**dy middle seat. What is even more galling is when I look at the seat maps the seats are wide open and there are loads and loads of aisle seats unallocated.
I really think this new seating policy stinks and BA ignoring customers stated preferences for aisle / window etc just makes it worse. Why do they request pax preferences if they do f**k all with it
There, I feel better too now
