As luck would have it, a friend is gifting me exactly 60K United miles to burn by Sunday and as a result, I'm faced with the dilemma of how to best use them.

I have decided that the miles will be used for a 12-day, late December/early January 2007 *A trip to SOMEWHERE WARM and SUNNY - and that I should take advantage of the stopover option available with award itineraries.

I know I could choose a 60K F award to the Caribbean but with US Airways being pretty much the only Star option, I wouldn't be getting very much bang for the buck/UA mile given their lackluster product.

So I'm now set on a 60K Y award to Asia with hopefully, SQ. But I'm a bit overwhelmed with the number of possible destinations.

Bali sounds really nice and even economical but I hear it rains alot in December. I'm already spending Thanksgiving in BKK/HKT and don't think I'll want to return at Xmas.

Thought I'd solicit ideas from fellow UA travelers. Thanks in advance!
