I have observed someone getting a full luggage search at check-in when they replied they were backpacking and had stayed at a hostel at LGW (NW - ICTS).

At check-in I have also had ICTS reject a self printed itinerary/receipt and make me go to the ticket counter to get an official airline receipt before starting the questions prior to check-in.
