Can't even get an upstairs window when I book at a weeks notice. A bad change for me.
I concur, it seems that if you book less than 2 weeks in advance, you have much less choice. As most of my travel is booked less than a week in advance (full fare CW), my hit rate has dropped noticably.

Next week I fly to BLR (CW) and all there is on offer is E & F.

Q: Given the new policy and you find yourself allocated an undesirable seat what is the best way to combat this?
- Log in and check seating choice as often as possible in the hope of a seat being released
- Phone BA and make a request they shift you if a seat becomes available.
- Rely on your rating and seat preference doing this for you automaticaly.
- Complain like hell if you still find yourself in a bad seat at CI, in the hope of an Op-Up?
