why does the 762 ever come to IAH?

i have taken the 762 quite a few times out of iah. once to and from mco and the rest to and from ewr.

why is it even in iah? i didnt think there were any long hauls with the 762 out of iah except for maybe the continuation of the ewr-iah-eze flight.

i know there used to be a iah-mco flight and a iah-lax, but i do not think they exist anymore. i do see a couple daily flights back and forth between iah and ewr.

why do they do that?

are the planes otherwise idle in between TATL trips from ewr? do they acutally need them for load purposes on ewr-iah-ewr?

are they best used to go in between hubs or could they be better utilized going to fla, phx, las, den or cali from ewr?
