Talking to a friend who flies 80,000 AS miles per year and he puts no effort into collecting any extra miles. I, on the other hand, think I do a pretty fair job of it and calculated in 2006, I got 4.3 RDM miles for every BIS Star Alliance carrier mile I flew (I fly UA 95% if the time). I sign up for every promotion available and the credit card miles help a lot, but my guess is there are some out there that can do this same calculation (total RDM miles divided by total BIS miles) and come out with some eye-popping numbers.
