I e-mailed my Travel Agent, Trialfinders and this is the reply I got from them:
Unfortunately the baggage allowance with Singaore Airlines is a set amount and we are not able to get a free increase for you. Anything you take above 20kg would be charged as excess baggage. If I were you I'd take the books with you but buy winter clothes once in NZ (as its cheaper!!)
I personally have a feeling that Trialfinders have not even tried. (I find that last time, when I asked them to change my SIN-KCH flight on MI flight as the CHC-SIN flight has been brought forward, despite well inside the MCT, they said they can't do it. Only after I reasoned with them did they say, they were misinformed and yes they will do it)
1. Do I e-mail them again and ask them to try?
2. Or do I just walk into LHR with the slightly heavier baggage (I would assume around 25-28 kg)?
Thanks a lot guys!
