Just did LX on SIN-BKK-SIN too on economy and the experience was as good as SQ economy, if not better, and for a much lower fare too (S$128 return excluding taxes, miles included).
Meals were offered (had green curry chicken with rice and a cake on SIN-BKK and some sort of spicy fried rice with chicken and fruits on BKK-SIN, no choices though). However the bread rolls were not heated, unlike SQ, but drinks (both alcoholic n non-alcoholic) were offered very generously!! Drinks were given by the cans (unlike SQ's miserly cup) and wines were handed out by the bottles!! Swiss chocolates were also given out before landing!!
IFE is on demand with 9" (i think) screens but offerings not as good as SQ, but seat pitch beats SQ's hands down. Crew were friendly, announcements were made in 5 languages!! (English, Thai, German, French, Mandarin) LX also has a number of thai cabin crew onboard. Economy pax are even encouraged to take their headsets home!!
