I noticed this yesterday where 2 F awards were available LGA-ORD-PEK (UA851) but not ORD-PEK (UA851).

In cases where this isn't a single flight # direct, couldn't you just build the award with the married segments where it's available and then drop the unwanted segment? What am I missing?
