AVOID MIA! Unfortunately, it is my home airport and am stuck doing most of my from/to flying, but it's been remodeling for the last 37 years (at least, that's as long as I have noticed it). Having flied on National, PanAm, Eastern and now AA, I can tell you that both domestic and especially international travel through MIA is sub-par at best. Baggage retrieval takes 50 mins on average. The fastest I have gotten my bag has been on an international Iberia arrival when they used to fly from Central America to MIA.
DFW Term D is pretty awesome compared to what you are most likely going to experience in MIA.
