In conjunction with some previous talk about the Herbfarm, in today's (4.13.07) Seattle Pi, there is an article, link below, regarding a "fundraiser" that the Herbfarm is putting together.
The Herbfarms participates in fundraiser
For most mortals, dinner at The Herbfarm is reserved for special occasions. But there's a heavenly feel-good dinner coming up April 19, an appetizer to this summer's Share Our Strength "Taste of the Nation: Eat, Drink & End Childhood Hunger" on July 19.
"A Tasteful Pursuit" also focuses on combating childhood hunger, with fundraising events at some of the country's most renowned restaurants. This year's lineup includes The American Restaurant in Kansas City, Cafe Boulud in Palm Beach, Fla., and Lola Bistro in Cleveland. The Herbfarm is the only Northwest venue on this year's tour.
An all-star team of chefs will collaborate on the six-course menu. Jason Wilson from Crush, Matt Dillon from Sitka & Spruce (recently named one of the country's best new chefs by Food & Wine magazine), Michael Ginor from Hudson Valley Foie Gras and Don Yamauchi from Tribute in Farmington Hills, Mich., will join Jerry Traunfeld in that dazzling display kitchen.
The dinner is $350, with 75 percent of that tab tax deductible. Reservations: 425-485-5300.
Tickets for the big event in July at Fisher Pavilion in Seattle Center are now on sale at tasteofthenation.org/seattle_tickets.
