Quaint review. I only thought of the SSR because I was a passenger in one a couple of days ago (owned by a friend -- my taste runs more to Bentleys). No flex, vibration etc. on normal roads. It isn't meant for off-road, maybe they were talking 15 mph going down the Devil's Staircase.
With 3 days for PCH, be sure to spend a night in Cambria (charming town near Hearst Castle, and with some good food). And the Hearst tours are surprisingly enjoyable, and each is quite different -- so taking more than 1 tour, and even spending the whole day there, is actually a good activity. And I generally detest tours. The whole Hearst Castle scenario is surreal (owning all the land to the horizon, middle of nowhere and building all the infrastructure).
The other near-mandatory point for staying the night is Big Sur. Ventana is expensive and not that luxurious but still worth it. Not sure when you are going, but fog lasting until noon is likely to be the norm, so plan accordingly (the best time for this drive is in Oct/Nov, just before the storms come; worst is July, from a fog standpoint). Also dress warmly, this can be Scottish weather once you reach the cold current part of the coast (or it could be 90s when the sun shines).
