It seems to me that all this coat hanging stuff is just another symptom of united's service inconsistency.
As frequent flyers, we all seem to know the drill, and we certainly notice inconsistency when we see it. I doubt non-frequent flyers will notice.
Having said that, it's always the same old things:
Will you hang my coat or not?
Pre-departure drinks or nothing?
Warm nuts or cold?
Enforce ticketed cabin lav rule or not?
Take orders by status or row?
Curtains closed or open?
Refills or gally gab?
Service with a smile or grimace?
I wish they could train ALL flight attendents to offer the same service routine
on all flights.
I also travel on Lufthansa, and I usally get the same routine and know what to expect. With United, especially lately, it's a box of chocolates.
