I was stuck at JFK during the Blizzard of '93, trying to fly to BGI. After half a day sitting on the plane, getting de-iced every half hour, AA canceled our flight and 40 other AA flights at the same time! Baggage claim was a madhouse! Thousands and thousands of pax and bags everywhere. It took us four hours to get our bags back, and by then the roads were closed and the taxis were gone. The vending machines were empty and all of the T8 restaurants had closed. It was a real mess. Most people were going to find some chairs and sleep in the airport.

We joined with some other people and rented a stretch limo (that could not find its scheduled customer) for a slow, dangerous trip into Manhattan.

God, what an insane day!
