Hi, can anyone update the forum on the merits and alternatives to the Ilikai for late May?

According to a newspaper report a major investor has big plans and renovations - will these renovations and the noise be cramping our style by the end of May?

Our purpose is a little sightseeing OUT of Waikiki, plus getting to HNL for a 9AM flight.
I've read good reports of the place on TA... But kaamaina know a LOT better than me!

Will check oput the Prince - seems v. popular.

PS. Ilikai has its own website, a Renaissance website and condo websites, including VRBO. Have seen condo rooms from $99 and hotel rooms from $161.
We don't need a resort or luxury, just something convenient (and not too touristy/crowded/crazy if possible!). Mahalo !
