I've loved my visit to Nova Scotia, The best part IMO is the Cape Brenton Island and the cabot trail. Very scenic drive and you'll bump into some wild life.
We were lucky enough to see the whales from the shore (at a little distance)

For the hotels, we mainly stayed in Holiday Inns and some of the hotels/motels listed in
AAA travel book.. almost all of them were clean and good.

We had a hard time finding a reservation in Cape Brenton Island. During some weekends almost
every thing is sold out there.
