I was astonished last Saturday: while still on the plane, queueing to get off SFO-LHR (op-upped ^ ) I sent my girlfriend a text message. Less than 35 minutes later I had cleared immigration, collected checked luggage, undergone a brief customs interrogation, made a phone call T1 landside, gone to WH Smiths at the central bus station, and made it to Hatton Cross by tube.
