I did my last GUP by telephone to the TG office. Everything was arranged by telephone - no problems. I used CheckMyTrip.com to confirm afterwards that the booking class had changed etc. No need to go to a ticketing office to 'endorse' tickets or anything like that. May require an e-ticket though.
