I agree. Unless you use your Costco membership regularly throughout the year, it's not worth it.
For me, it's a good deal because I can save about $3 at the pump per fill-up. I fill up about every 3 weeks, so the cost savings alone from gas make up for the membership cost. I don't ever deal with Costco Gas lines (evenings at around 8 p.m. is the best time to fill up at the Iwilei station) and it's about a mile from my home, so it's a pretty good set-up.
