they fail to realize that not everyone is lazy enough to stay on departure time and some might want to get a jump on jetlag. this logic appears to be why AA did not offer snacks on PVG-ORD in business.
Actually this was my initial reaction and would have left a more bitter taste in my mouth had I actually paid for WBC rather than used some miles to upgrade. I know, in effect, business class is business class no matter how you got there. But I did view it differently in light of how I got there and because I valued my sleep over the meal.
Your point about staying on departure time is exactly dead on. That is why most people have jet lag flying internationally whereas I have little if any, usually flying economy class and not taking any drugs or medication.
