I'd rather see all post counts go away (as they are largely meaningless, IMHO) than singling out any specific forums. FT is a community, and as such, splitting it into pieces based upon the perceived value of those pieces isn't a great idea.
As many others have pointed out, there are many useful OMNI threads (and, to disagree with Dovster, many useful and travel-relevant TS&S threads as well--those that dip into OMNI-land are, after all, promptly sent there by the TS&S mods), and there are certainly "fluff" threads in the more directly travel-related forums. So I wouldn't just dismiss those forums as less useful or valuable to FT so quickly.
Personally, I find I check OMNI more often than the other forums I regularly read as it is the most likely to have "new" and interesting items, whereas others show how poor our search skills are repeatedly in the "Will my upgrade clear? / Airline XX sucks and will never get my business again! / Is there an elite security line at airport xxx?" sort of threads that crop up every couple of days therein.
So I guess I'd argue against this particular measure, but would be at least somewhat supportive of or at worst ambivalent toward an elimination of post counts altogether, as I see the two as separate issues (with post counts being the root, IMHO, of the issue addressed by this thread).
