I had the same issue. My story was a little worse. I was waiting in floor 38 for about 8 minutes. It was me and a family of four. Finally the elevator showed up and there was space for one more person- so I got on and the family just stayed there (the kids were already talking about taking the stairs with all their luggage- that's a lot of steps). I get on and the elevator stops at 37. There is a family of 3 waiting there. Someone in the back says "sorry there's no room". At which point the guy waiting says "we're getting on- we've been waiting 10 minutes". He pushes his little kid on and then his wife. When he gets on he pushes me and I would've fallen down if there was any room to fall down. Instead I bang into the lady behind me who hits the person behind her into the wall. This guy doesn't apologize or anything- a real pleasant fellow. For people paying hundreds of dollars a night there has got to be a better system/service. Every time I waited over 5 minutes for an elevator except the one time time I went down at 6:30 a.m. Anyway, I checked out and went to the Renaissance. Now that is a hotel- much nicer rooms, much friendlier staff, and an overall much much better experience- never waited for an elevator for more than 15 seconds (and I was on the 25th floor). I recommend it way way way more than the Marriott.
