mjpflyer, remembering the ginormous lines at LHR when she was last there...and hoping FRA isn't the same...
I've probably entered via FRA 50-60 times in the last 20 years. Quite simply the most painless and efficient passport control and customs anywhere I've run into in the world. I always give the passport officer a cheery "Guten Tag".

I haven't checked luggage into FRA in a good ten years so I could not comment on luggage arrival time.

I have yet to get stopped by FRA customs when walking out in the "Nothing to Declare" line.

I will actually connect to London via FRA and LCY specifically to avoid the security/passport control/customs fiasco that is LHR.
