These flgihts will continue to make sense where AC is not confident of their ability to fill the aircraft on the transpac non-stop from YYZ.

The only problem is that the transcons with the 763's are not at the time of day when people really would want to use the lie flat feature.
More and more,once the 777 fleet is complete and eventually the 787's arrive, AC are going to have both YVR and YYZ non stop originated flights to Asia thus the "direct" flights ex YYZ will become fewer and fewer and transcons will become "connectors". There is no money to be made in flying those international configured planes domestically.
