I recently flew WBC from AMS to MSP. I wanted to sleep the first part of the trip since that was MN night time (not to mention I was on a very quick MN turnaround). But by doing that, I had to totally forego any hot meal service. Some airlines (I know UA in particular) offer a choice in business class - the full hot meal service when they serve it or a quicker service sometimes called "executive" or something like that which you can have anytime throughout the flight.

That would be a nice touch for NW to start in WBC. Sure there was a snack toward the very end of the flight, and certainly foregoing the hot meal is not the end of the world. But having a choice would not be a bad thing, especially in light of the competition.
