Silom has some nice boutique hotels ( the Swiss Lodge etc.)There are also some apartment hotels further down the way, one is run by the Beaufort group IIRC. The Dusit sits at the top of Silom across from Lumpini park. The Dusit was refrubished and is again a solid 4* hotel. Further afield is the Sofitel Silom which in my opinion represents good value in it's class and on Sathorn road you will find the Sukothai (which has one of the best Sunday Brunches I have ever been to bar none).
