"School" isn't spelt "skool", and I would imagine the word "neighbour" to confuse the novice to English as well. "Qantas" almost gentle in comparison!
Qantas isn't actually a word at all is it? It is the name of a company that was derived from it's earlier name. Can you name one "word" in english where the "Q" is followed by a letter other than "u" yet is pronounced as if it did have the "u" ?
