using Gold Upgrade ex HKG

I'm thinking about buying a HKG-CDG tix in Y or J and use the gold upgrade . Yet I will buy the ticket in Shenzhen, or maybe issue an e-ticket from a HKG TA. Will buy the tickety 3 to 4 days before flying . How could I get the upgrade without going to HKG ? is that manageable from Shenzhen ?
