I think many of us can say that we've had good flights on Ted and bad flights on Ted (RAR!)... just as we've had good mainline flights and bad mainline flights. In other words, the actual flying of Ted is hardly different than the actual flying of mainline economy.

So the 'fuss', as I understand it, is not really about the flying... but about other things, such as not being able to fly in F to certain destinations for those who routinely pay for F tickets (paging iluv2fly )...

For me the biggest 'fuss' about Ted is that UA took its best small plane with a long range (A320) and a nice and adequate F cabin (12 vs. 8 seats, working powerports) and sent half of that fleet to Ted...
