It's been there for a long time...the uptown location closed last year. The downtown location is, as you correctly suspected, worthy of skipping. I find that L+Ls that share other cuisines in the same location are usually not as good as the stand-alone L+Ls that are exclusively Hawaiian - and the Lihue location is another example of that.
