We've had this discussion many times before with other helpful ground staff lurkers on here, many of whom seem to hate this issue. At best, it is a woeful display of one hand not knowing what the other is doing at BA since people are clearly promised this...at worst, it is simply BA being sh!te at delivering something properly again I don't believe it's the fault of the staff themselves on an individual level at all (it rarely is) though.

That said, I've never been refused the priority lane as Silver/Gold on longhaul - or shorthaul (when the moon is blue and it's actually offered), come to think of it ^
Perhaps we're speaking of two separate things. The F/J "Fast Track" lane is only available to First and Club...ECH Gold/Silver and OW equivalents traveling in WTP or WT are not eligible to use this. ECH Gold/Silv and OW equivalents travelling in WTP or WT can board at their leisure but using the economy boarding lane.

Read the benefit carefully...it only mentions boarding at your leisure but not WHERE you board.

From oneworld website: Boarding at convenience
From BA website: At departure, priority boarding means you can board at your convenience regardless of the class you are travelling in that day.
