If you are not going to travel, make certain to cancel the itinerary before the scheduled departure date, or the ticket will loose its value. Depending upon the fare rule and fare basis of the ticket, many international tickets allow you to waive the change fee of the ticket if the entire itinerary is booked into a higher fare class or more expensive fare. You would just have to find a fare that costs $1 more, if something like this is available, but you are most likely to spend maybe $50 or $75 more for the next higher fare. This is a good deal.
