now you get in the lack of consistency and the reason being told your flight is late can be useless. Since you mentioned the long delay, my bet is they processed everyone at the original boarding time, when you were still in the RCC b/c you knew the flight was late. By the time boarding came around, they felt they'd already completed the clearing/changing seat process and didn't bother to again look for the passengers that hadn't originally responded to the page.
