Mistake? Since when was the GoldPoints promotion a mistake? This was not a web site error - this was an ESTABLISHED triple-point promotion. There was no 'ethical violation' involved. Suppose someone is buying dollar bills for $1.50 each, no limit. Why is it wrong to go to the bank, get $100 (or $1000) in bills, and get 50% back on your investment?
GoldPoints and ValueMags came up with the promotion to SELL MAGAZINES. I BOUGHT MAGAZINES. Nothing unethical there. Yes, I bought a lot of magazines - so? I could afford it, they could afford to sell them to me at that price, and my local library got a nice donation out of it (IMHO).
Where's the ethical violation? We're not talking about Enron here.
